APF produces libraries of ENU-gene variant mice that allow for screening of recessive gene effects including:

• Simple Inbred Pedigree: Pedigree founded on, for example, C57BL/6 background and bred on same background. Affected mice outcrossed for chromosomal mapping of gene location.

• Simple Outbred Pedigree: Pedigree founded on, for example, C57BL/6 but outcrossed to CBA to facilitate chromosomal mapping in pedigree.

• Simple pedigree on sensitised background: Pedigree founded on transgenic/ knockout or gene-variant strain to modify phenotype.

• Complex pedigree on sensitised background: Pedigree founded with 2 different transgenes/ knockout strains.
